Lesson Rates

Registration includes the learner being assigned to the best-suited available tutor.

Registration remains valid for the year, even if lessons are paused. Please note, when lessons resume after pausing, a new tutor may need to be assigned as we cannot guarantee the former tutor will have time available in their schedule.

Learner re-registration for 2025 will be offered at a discounted rate to those who register, or re-register, with Polokwane Tutors in 2024.

The 2024 re-registration fee for home tuition learners (available to 2023 clients) is R300. Re-registration does not include the assessment lesson.

The registration consultation usually takes between 40 minutes to 1 hour. We discuss your child’s tuition requirements in detail and get the required information for your child to be matched to the best-suited available tutor and for lessons to be scheduled. We complete our learner registration form during this consultation and provide copies of our Terms and Conditions and timesheet information. These documents can be left with you to be signed, or signed during the registration consultation.

Home registration consultations are available to clients living in Polokwane. Video call consultations are offered to clients outside of Polokwane. 

This assessment lesson is designed for the tutor to get to know the learner and review their school work. It is also for the learner to see if they are happy with the assigned tutor. 

The 30-minute assessment lesson may be upgraded to a 1-hour weekday lesson for an additional R150.

Study Portfolios consist of a flip file and exercise book for the work and study notes completed during tuition lessons to be recorded in.

Keeping the completed work in the Study Portfolios allows the learner to be able to easily revise between lessons and at exam time.

With the client’s permission, we like to contact the learner’s teachers to get their input on what areas within their subject they would like the Tutor to focus on. This enables the learner to receive the greatest benefits from their one-on-one tuition lessons.

Whilst we have confidence in our tutors and do our best to match the learner with the right tutor, based on the information given to us during the registration consultation, we understand that the right tutor-learner combination can only be confirmed after the first lesson has taken place. 

If a client or learner is not happy with the Tutor assigned to them after receiving their 30-minute assessment lesson (included in the registration fee), Polokwane Tutors will provide a replacement tutor and a free of charge 30-minute assessment lesson with the new tutor.
